Village Homes, Davis

We visited the neighborhood Village Homes, in Davis, California. It is an amazing park-like residential community. While there we picnicked, lounged on the lawn, and ate fruit off the trees. California at its best...

Winters, California

We spent the afternoon at a really neat park in Winters, California. It was a lovely place, original and in a shaded area of a small town block. The kids enjoyed the swings and wooden walkways.

Loic Turns ONE

On Loic's first birthday we had a pizza and cake party in his honor. He enjoyed hours of playing with balloons (and friends and family) and the cake was pretty tip top too. His grandma, Popo came up from Portland, as did his Aunt Dana, Uncle Matt, and cousins Lydia and Isaiah. It was a really special day for me too. I was very aware of what was happening just one year ago. We are so in love with our little boy.

Sick Boy at the Park

It was a beautiful day but Loic was sick. I thought fresh air was needed by both of us so we went to Salmon Bay park. Loic was low energy and spend lots of time swinging quietly. He also practiced his standing in the soft wood chips.

Early February Stroll

Loic and I went to West Seattle for a walk with a friend. After our stroll, we spent some time by the water observing the scene. Loic was pretty enthralled with the vista, including birds, kids playing, and a water taxi.

11 months and counting.

Fun at the dinner table. He loves to goof around at meal time.

We went to the Seattle Children's Museum with PEPS. It was a TON of fun. And we did a mock run of the first cupcake, but without eating it! I was cleansing (no sugar or refined flour) and wanted to save that moment for the real first birthday. Loic didn't know what the think about the singing and the small flame burning in front of him. Nor did his other PEPS friends.

I don't know where to start. It's been so long since I've posted. It's 2011! I wondered if I'd ever get tired of this life as a stay at home mom. Not yet. I love it. Among others, my new years resolution includes staying abreast of Loic's developmental stages. I don't want to be a parent that doesn't respond to the challenges of a 1 year old. Like, aggression (yep, seen it), reluctance to share (of course), and the march towards "the terrible twos". So, what does that mean for me? I am not sure...
