Reggae Christmas Videos

Christmas is in full swing. Music, tree, cookies, mistletoe, shopping, etc. Who knew that Christmas was so much fun with a kid? Duh. I love it!

These videos are just small snapshots of our mornings. Short n sweet. Sorry about the singing in the second one. I try not to do that.

Lindsey and Dan's Wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona

Burberry Baby, no kidding. But check out the cacti too, Royal Palm Resort is BEAUTIFUL.

The climate in Arizona did funny things to Loic's hair. That was a weekend long hair tuft he had on top of his head.

He also had something weird with his tongue that weekend. Could that be the weather too?

Staying Busy during the Ceremony

Loic likes shoes.

We spent before and during the ceremony on this nice patch of grass at the back. It was perfect for Loic, he was able to explore, including the base of a palm, leaves, and a light along the walkway.

The handsome family.

Loic looking tired at the brunch the next day (in his train engineer halloween costume). He hardly slept the whole weekend...

Arizona Wedding Weekend

Loic and I took a dip in the pool at the hotel. He can't swim yet. But he's pretty comfortable in the water.
Loic wearing the halloween Trail Engineer Hat (it's getting a bit small), getting ready to test the water.

The morning ritual, crappy coffee on the hotel terrace. Pretty nice.

Three generations of Emmerson men walking to the cocktail party the night before Lindsey and Dan's wedding.

Playing with PEPS People

Loic and I went to the zoo with our PEPS group on a beautiful October afternoon. Loic didn't notice many animals but had a great time on the blanket on the lawn with his buddies. The crawlers go at it for the best toys...

Standing, Crawling, Eating, and Sleeping!

Loic is no longer content to sit and play. Now play is moving, crawling, pulling himself up, cruising on the couch and tables. And of course, taking falls because his footing is not very sure. Month seven has been really fun: eating (he's finally enjoying solids!), crawling, standing, and maybe most important...sleeping! Loic still nurses at night (1-2 times) but other than that, he sleeps (11-12 hours). We have regained our evenings and long chunks of sleep at night. Everyone is happier with the schedule. Hurrah!

Pre Bedtime Nudie Time

Looking Big

Loic has a new favorite past time. Standing! And he's getting quite stable. Mom and I think that he'll use crawling to find a place to stand. The photos are blurry because I hate the flash and he's always moving. He's still working on crawling but he works on it a lot less than standing. Thanks Auntie Helen for the cute sweatshirt!

Eating, or, Hanging out in the High Chair

Believe it or not, eating does not come naturally to Loic. He's getting there, but for now is happy with a couple bites of whatever is being served and then some q-time with the spoon. He loves his spoon! The slimy close-up is carrots, I think. Maybe peach. Really, it's no wonder that he's not an voracious eater. I mean, the menu is pretty boring.

Loic's New Spot

Loic is getting ready to travel around...soon he'll be cruising around the kitchen (and everywhere else). For now, I can set him down and come back to him after I've finished my task. I am cherishing this time, 'cause what is coming next is much more busy.

Loic's First Dinner in a Tatami Room

At Maneki, a classic old Japanese Restaurant in the International District. No sushi for the little guy...yet. We went with our friends, Emily and Mike and their daughters, Olivia and Fiona. The four grown-ups have shared many a dinner at Maneki and it was pretty fun to enjoy it with three small kiddos in tow. Tatami rooms are perfect for kiddos.

Working on The Crawl

Cute Kid

PEPS

We've been meeting with our PEPS (Program for Early Parenthood Support) group for almost 6 months! Since Loic was a mere 4 weeker. It's fun times when we get together to roll around and grab and drool on each others toys. These babes have come a long way!

Loic Eats Solid Food!

Loic is ready to eat solid foods...What he doesn't know is that his first food will be zucchini, yep, his Grandpa Fred's most dreaded veg. If Fred knew, he'd give me a serious talk about treating my boy right. He might understand my desire to give Loic fresh, local food...this is not food from a jar. Don't worry Fred, and Loic, soon we'll move on to peaches.

The poor boy. Zucchini with breast milk for his first solid food meal. Does he like it?

The first time he ate, we had no high chair. He ate on my lap with an adult spoon.

The next day we got a highchair from Eric and Ami and Loic LOVES it! Proud and happy from the looks of it!

Loic is slowly learning the skill of moving food from his lips to his tummy.

Our Two Weeks at Priest Lake, Idaho

Loic wanted to go back to the cabin...Rafer and I were having a beautiful time on the dock. Believe it or not, it was bedtime, 7 pm or so.

The view from the cabin onto the deck with the Thicket behind. Loic loves coffee mugs.

The beach at Hill's Resort, the part of the lake nearest to our cabin. Hill's is a great old school resort but more for the speed boat set (unlike us, the canoe set).

One of many "nappy" walks in the woods. We rediscovered the Ergo and loved it, me and Loic both. My mom and Rafer too.

Goofin' off at the beach.
