Davis Farmers' Market

We spent Saturday at the Davis Farmers' Market. It has been voted #1 market in the country. It was pretty darn great. We loved the fruit, the park adjacent, and the convivial scene. But, where was the music? And the meat. The park scene does add a lot of family friendliness, more than the grimy street of the otherwise pretty awesome Ballard Market.

These kids were passing a soccer game and Loic was pretty interested.

California cap.

Sock Hand

Loic has been wearing a sock on his hand to protect his owie. Loic touched a hot Webber grill while we were in California. Ouch! He burned his hand pretty bad, as in blisters on every finger and the palm. After two hours of lots of pain, lots of tears and lots of water poured over the hand, Loic made a nice recovery. Since the pain has subsided, his is more interested in poking and prodding his hand. Here he is checking out the sock hand.Loic can't resist his cousin's sweet head and she took it without much complaining. Tough girl.

These guys had so much fun playing together. They are 6 months apart in age.

On the go...

Village Homes, Davis

We visited the neighborhood Village Homes, in Davis, California. It is an amazing park-like residential community. While there we picnicked, lounged on the lawn, and ate fruit off the trees. California at its best...

Winters, California

We spent the afternoon at a really neat park in Winters, California. It was a lovely place, original and in a shaded area of a small town block. The kids enjoyed the swings and wooden walkways.
