Priest Lake

No better place to nurse. This was taken on our last evening at Priest. It was hard hard hard to leave the water on that beautiful evening. We only left when Loic let it be known that he needed to go to bed.

The woods near the family cabin. My grandparents bought land with a group of friends. Each family built a cabin in "The Thicket" and now, almost 50 years later, one cabin has been sold, two (including ours) are primarily used by the descendants.

Our friends Jesica and Dennis came to the Lake with their two boys. Loic loved the attention he got from these big boys. And what fun these boys are...

Loic spent lots of quality time on the beach playing. He loves to sit and play with toys and chew on books. We like to say that he devours books. He does.

We saw this young bear soon after arriving to the cabin. We'd been hearing about him. He was lucky to get garbage and dog food from my cousins who stayed at the cabin before us. Actually, we were all a bit nervous (Rafer wasn't, surely) about having a bear around the Thicket so we bought a whistle. But, after seeing the bear, I wasn't so nervous...it was a small guy and we witnessed him running away when he heard kids playing nearby.

More Priest Lake!

Loic and Paul had some good times: playing, biting, grabbing, pinching, etc.

He was a bit wary at times of the water...but he didn't say "no".

Loic was lovin' it.

Loic enjoying the dock while mom and dad enjoy a huckleberry daquiri. Hills has to-go drinks!

The beauty of Priest Lake...I can't get enough, ever.

Professional Family Photos

We got professional photos taken of Loic on April 24. He was 10 weeks old, he is MUCH older now...5 months, 2 weeks old soon. He's looking pretty chubby now, right? Here's three.

Playin'

Discovery Park with Grandpa and Grandma

Rafer's dad and step mom visited us from Maine. Rafer played hookey and we took them on a walk through Discovery Park to the beach and along the loop trail in the woods. Loic slept in the Ergo carrier much of the way but when we were on the beach, he was very interested in the scenery and he took it in from beneath the Ergo's sunshade.

Me 'n' Mom at the Beach

Loic's been rejecting sleep lately. So, instead of napping, he and I set off in the heat of the day on a walk to Golden Gardens. It was glorious. And we weren't the only ones enjoying the beach. There was a baptism tent and large stage set up for some beach worship. Quite a scene.
